Sai Pallavi Embraces Meditation and Purity to Embody Sita in Epic ‘Ramayana’

The Pratham Sankalp event in New Delhi marked the grand launch of the promotional campaign for the eagerly awaited film Ramayana: Part 1 on a vibrant Saturday. The gathering was a star-studded affair, featuring the film’s cast and crew alongside an eclectic mix of guests from the realms of cinema and spirituality. Amidst this illustrious company, director Nitesh Tiwari showered Sai Pallavi with praise for her portrayal of the iconic Sita.

When the enchanting Sai Pallavi shared her journey of bringing Sita to life, she expressed, “Opportunities like this are a rarity for actors. Playing a Goddess is no small feat. It requires an entire team dedicated to crafting the most authentic portrayal possible.”

She continued, with reverence and humility, “It wasn’t a role I sought out; rather, I feel incredibly blessed to have been chosen to portray Sita maa. This isn’t something you can plan or script. During my preparation, I often found myself in deep meditation, inviting Sita maa to express herself through me, ensuring that every action and emotion was true to her essence.”

The actress also confided that maintaining a state of ‘purity’ was crucial for her portrayal, explaining, “I strived to keep my thoughts as pure and neutral as possible, aspiring to bring forth my best self in this role.”

Director Nitesh Tiwari couldn’t contain his admiration for Sai and her co-star Ranbir Kapoor, who takes on the role of Ram. He remarked, “The truth of an actor often shines through their eyes. In Ranbir, I saw Ram, and in Sai, I saw Sita. They embodied the authenticity I was seeking. When I watch the film, I don’t see Sai or Ranbir, I see Sita and Ram.”

The ambitious two-part film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal, and Vivek Oberoi, among others, in pivotal roles. The first part is set to dazzle audiences during Diwali 2026, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.

With buzz building and audiences eagerly awaiting each glimpse, Ramayana stands as one of India’s most ambitious cinematic projects. The recently unveiled trailer at the event has already captivated attendees, though global audiences must wait until July 24 for their first look.
