You can see monuments in 3D on Google Search now; Check the details

All the users will be allowed to search and view monuments in 3D on Google Search. In the recent update of the search engine, 3D and AR views of select topics like land animals, birds, chemistry and biology terms, and cultural objects have been in the picture for some time now.

Among the big list of 3D and AR views, some cultural heritage sites like Brandenburg Gate, Chichen Itza, Gateway of India, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Chauvet Cave, and Ahu Nau Nau are also added. A report suggests that there are about 98 new monuments added to the list, we could only see the ones present in India.

Some of the new 3D views on Google Search are La Sagrada Familia, Big Ben, The Palace of Fine Arts, Piazza Della Signoria, Conservatory of Flowers, Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel, Alcatraz Island, Neuschwanstein Castle, Eiffel Tower, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum, etc.

This feature is only available for the users of Android 7 and above that support ARCore. For Apple users, iPhone should be iOS 11 and above.

To see the results, you can say a monument’s name, for example, Eiffel Tower in 3D, look for it on Google search via the app or browser (preferably Google Chrome). Then, click on ‘view in 3D’.
